In plain English

  1. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across our site.
  2. Our display panel lets you change text size, contrast, motion, link highlighting, theme and color palette.
  3. Embedded calculators come from our service provider; we test them, but some third-party behavior may vary.
  4. Report any barrier to [email protected] and we aim to reply within 2 business days.

Our commitment

CalculateInterestPay wants everyone to be able to understand their loans, savings and payments, including people who use assistive technology or have disabilities that affect how they see, hear, move or process information. Accessibility is part of how we plan, design, write and test every page.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. We also aim to follow plain-language principles so financial ideas are easy to follow.

Display panel

Every page has a display panel so you can adjust the site to suit you. Your choices are saved in your own browser and are never sent to us.

SettingWhat it does
Text sizeMakes text larger or smaller across the site
ContrastIncreases contrast between text and backgrounds
MotionReduces or removes animation and movement
Link highlightingMakes links stand out more clearly
ThemeSwitches between light, dark or your system setting
Color paletteChanges the site’s color scheme

The site also respects your device’s own settings where it can, such as reduced motion and light or dark mode.

What we do

  • Use semantic headings, landmarks and labels so pages make sense to screen readers.
  • Make every feature usable with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Aim for text and controls that meet WCAG color contrast requirements.
  • Provide text alternatives for meaningful images and charts.
  • Write calculator labels, instructions and error messages in plain language.
  • Design layouts that reflow on small screens and when text is enlarged.
  • Test pages with keyboards, screen readers and automated checks, and review accessibility when we add or change content.

Known limitations

  • Embedded calculators: our calculators are provided by our calculator service provider and shown in an embedded frame. We test them for keyboard and screen reader use, but some third-party behavior may vary between browsers and assistive technologies.
  • Partner and third-party websites: websites you reach through links on our site, including partner pages, are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.

If you run into any of these or other barriers, please tell us. We will try to fix the problem and, in the meantime, help you get the information you need in another way.

Report a barrier or ask for help

Email [email protected] and include, if you can:

  • the page address (URL);
  • what you were trying to do and what happened;
  • the browser, device and any assistive technology you were using.

We aim to respond within 2 business days. We take every report seriously and use feedback to set our priorities.

Compatibility

Our site is designed to work with current versions of major web browsers and with common assistive technologies, including screen readers, screen magnifiers, speech recognition software and keyboard-only navigation. Older browsers may not display every feature correctly.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is ongoing. We review this statement as the site changes and update the date at the top of this page when we do.

Questions about this policy

What accessibility standard does CalculateInterestPay follow?

We aim to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We design, build and test our pages against that standard and fix issues as we find them.

How do I make the text bigger or reduce motion?

Open the display panel on any page. You can change text size, contrast, motion and link highlighting, as well as the theme and color palette. Your choices are saved in your browser.

Can I use the calculators with a keyboard or screen reader?

They are designed to be. We test the embedded calculators with keyboards and screen readers, but because they are provided by our service provider, some behavior may vary. Please tell us about anything that does not work.

How do I report an accessibility problem?

Email [email protected] with the page address, what you were trying to do and the assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 2 business days.

Will my display settings be remembered?

Yes. They are stored in your browser as cip-a11y, cip-theme and cip-palette and stay until you clear your site data. They are never sent to us.
